Stay at a Gorgeous Farmhouse Cottage, The Leat..
If you're looking for that perfect cosy cottage stay, look no further.
Walking through the doors of The Leat, near Whitesands I received the warmest welcome with everything I imagined and more.
Approaching the cottage in its stunning rural surroundings, the traditional stoned walls slightly gave away that it may have a farmhouse interior décor inside (and the fact that’s it’s a converted barn!) Sleeping 4 in 2 bedrooms and welcoming 2 pets, I was excited to explore the cottage further to discover what gives The Leat its unique charm and character.
Well, there was certainly no shortage of farmhouse charm. Traditional beams, whitewashed stone walls, pastel-painted furniture and pretty finishing touches completes this gorgeous cottage making it a real home away from home.
Making my way around every nook and cranny within the property, I learnt what makes The Leat so unique is its originality. In many farmhouse themed cottages today everything is matched to perfection, like straight out of a picture-perfect catalogue. The Leat is quite the opposite to this. Farmhouse doesn’t always have to mean neutral tones. The mixed materials and patterns in the living rooms furnishings is a contemporary and refreshing twist from the typical clean and crisp farmhouse décor we often see in magazines!
The theme continues to flow into the kitchen. I could instantly picture a family preparing meals or an afternoon of baking together here. The pretty mugs, pots and pans really bring character complimenting the room.
If the inside of this property has impressed you – wait until you see the outside! Unfenced grounds allows uninterrupted views of rolling rural hills across the Dowrog common Nature Reserve. All I wanted to do was pull up a deck chair with a good book and relax in the garden on the peaceful summer’s afternoon, while listening to the gentle running stream situated just below the property.
Nearby St David’s and the stunning Whitesands bay (voted in top 10 for Welsh beaches!) offer places of interest, a sandy beach, the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and a variety of activities including golf and surfing, making The Leat a perfect base to explore Pembrokeshire.
If you can picture yourself wrapped in the softest plaid blanket (perhaps with a glass of red wine), or relaxing in in beautiful rural grounds after reading this blog, The Leat is definitely the perfect property for you.
