About The Villa

The Villa is a gorgeous detached, traditional stone cottage which has been beautifully renovated throughout to provide excellent accommodation, yet retaining all its unique magic with a wealth of original features to create a charming retreat nestling in an idyllic location, only yards from the beach at Abereiddy and the famous Blue Lagoon.

Beautifully extended in 2019, it now offers spacious open plan living with natural oak and slate floors, the bespoke modern fitted kitchen with dining area and wood burning stove with a wonderful stone chimney now has stairs leading down to the new, sunken, large sitting room with an additional wood burning stove for those chillier evenings, giving ample space to relax and cosy up. Comfortably furnished to a high standard in a stylish contemporary look with the natural colours reflecting the proximity of the sea, the ‘blue’ sandy beach and the striking Blue Lagoon. A French door opens out to the freshly and beautifully landscaped garden with its raised paved terrace, the perfect spot to enjoy an alfresco meal and admire the stunning view out to sea, while you listen to the waves gently crashing on the beach just yards from your door, children will enjoy playing on the lawned area.

Perfect for kayakers and keen walkers, while wildlife and bird enthusiast will enjoy spotting the many different species, including seals who often play in the bay. Enjoy exploring the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and marvel at the dramatic cliffs and picturesque coves. Follow the Coast Path to Traeth Llyfn Beach, voted one of the best hidden beaches in the UK and one of Pembrokeshire’s finest, only 1 mile away or keep walking, past the old slate works, to The Sloop Inn and art galleries at Porthgain, a further half a mile away. The choice of stunning beaches to visit is extensive, and Whitesands Bay is less than 7 miles away, a real must for families and surfing enthusiasts, professional and beginners alike, it has been voted one of the best beaches, so thats official! The tiny City of St Davids is only a short drive away with its majestic Cathedral and historic Bishops Palace, also offering a variety of shops, galleries pubs and restaurants to try. A boat trip from St Justinians or Whitesands beach round the island of Ramsey is sure to be a highlight of any holiday or why not spend a day exploring the island, you are bound to be enthralled by the wildlife and the many seal pups on the beaches in September.

The Villa is a magical holiday cottage for families and couples which will give everlasting memories to cherish.

The property is approached from an A-road via minor, single track country lanes (with passing places) and then a rough, sandy track. The minor road access to the beach car park can be difficult to access since it is a very steep road and there are only very limited passing places. The Villa has a narrow (7 foot width) 5 bar gateway to the right hand side of the house and a gravelled parking area for one car (there is plenty of parking for a further two cars to the side of the cottage). The gravelled parking area then leads via a step to a flat paved area in front of the main door (which has a two inch high threshold) and which is to the side of the house. There is a further exit door at the rear of the house onto a paved area which leads out to: 1. A paved pathway on single level around the rear and side perimeters of the house 2. A large terraced area (flat paved) at the rear 3. A large gravelled parking area to the side of the house suitable for two to three cars. The rear terrace has 4 steps down to a sunken lawned garden and gravelled area that leads to a further gravelled picnic-tabled seating area. The terrace sits about 4 feet above the lawned garden below and is a significant DROP DOWN large retaining rocks which form a rockery. The remainder of the gardens are set to lawn. The total grounds run to about one third of an acre. The property is mostly single storey and on one level (levels vary only marginally at points where there are differences in flooring types). There is a recently built side extension to the house that runs off the main living area and has a large below-ground area as additional living space with a flight of 6 wooden steps down. There is a wooden staircase that runs off the main living area to a further locked-off space upstairs. Doorways are narrow, cottage doors with Suffolk latches and of 600mm width. Hallways, kitchen, bathroom/shower attachment/whb/wc are all slate/ceramic tiled. Bedrooms are carpeted. The property comprises three bedrooms. The double room has an en-suite wet room/whb/wc. The twin and bunk rooms share a bathroom (with shower attachment/whb/wc). Separate cloakroom/whb/wc off main entrance hall. The kitchen has standard level work surfaces/breakfast bar, low level oven and Belfast sink. Utility area off entrance hallway with washer/dryer, standard level work surfaces and Belfast sink. Well-lit open plan lounge/kitchen/diner (natural and artificial lighting) with wood burning stove and sofa and chair seating as well as a dining table and chairs to seat 8. A further downstairs living room has sofa and chair seating together with a further wood-burning stove and is principally set up as a TV/Snug. External garden table and chairs on rear terraced area near to rear door. External seating bench and chairs and external picnic table. External lighting system to front and side of property automatically activated by movement sensors after dusk. Further external lighting to rear and side of property operated from inside. No animals/pets. NO SMOKING. Public transport – the “Strumble Flyer” shuttle bus operates daily in the summer months stopping at the Abereiddy beach car park (200 yards) or at intersection of the access lane to the hamlet a further 200 yards up the steep hill. This shuttles along the circular distance between Strumble Head and St Davids.
