About Puffin Cottage

Puffin Cottage is a charming, detached, stone cottage set right on the water’s edge of this quiet hamlet opposite the popular Ferry Inn, renowned for its good food. Renovated throughout, it has been comfortably and stylishly furnished with a nautical theme that reflects its wonderful estuary views from every room. One step leads down into the hallway with its useful boot room for walking and wet weather gear and reading room. Two further steps take you down to the lovely, light, split-level open-plan living space with a modern, fitted kitchen and two steps up to the sitting/dining room, where you can relax and soak up the super water views.

French doors open to an enclosed paved terrace where you can dine alfresco or enjoy a drink on summer’s evening, watching this ever-changing waterway; when the tide is in, the water almost laps at the wall of your patio. A gate leads through the adjacent pub garden giving you direct access to the shingle foreshore there for you to explore as the tide goes out. Stairs from the kitchen lead up to the two small, pretty, bedrooms on the first floor, the views are stunning.

Ideal for boating enthusiasts or those who just love to mess around on the water with a slipway on your doorstep and after a busy day enjoy a meal in the neighbouring pub. Conveniently located with the historic town of Pembroke and its medieval Castle, as well as excellent facilities are only a few minutes drive away. This leads through to some of South Pembrokeshire’s most famous beaches including Bosherston, the lily ponds, Broadhaven South, Barafundle Bay and West Angle Bay, all within a short drive. Freshwater West popular with surfing enthusiasts and made famous as the location for the Harry Potter and Robin Hood films, is well worth a visit. While the west side of the Cleddau Estuary over the bridge offers the Dale Peninsula with Marloes Sands, Musslewick and Martins Haven, the embarkation point for trips to Skomer Island to see the puffins.

Neyland Marina with its waterside restaurant and cafe is nearby, this offers extensive cycle and footpaths through the nature reserve as far as the bustling market town of Haverfordwest.

A wonderful waterside cottage for couples or a family to escape to, perfectly placed to explore all the South of the County has to offer.

Please note, there are changes of level within the cottage.

'Amazing views from the back and a pub at the front - what could be better?! We arrived on our anniversary and seems we may be the first guests. What a treat! We had such an amazing week and it was such a lovely cottage to stay in - very well equipped and beautifully furnished. The weather has been fantastic and we will definitely go home with suntans. We come down to Pembrokeshire a lot so we have visited our usual haunts- Freshwater West, Angle, Pembroke and we took a boat up the river and through the Haven. We took lots of walks with the dog and visited Upton Gardens which was beautiful and there was no one there. So whoever visits next time, your bound to have a lovely time. ' May 2019
