The cottage is approached from an A-road, then along approximately ½ mile of narrow country lanes. The last 200 yards have a gravel surface. There are no gates. There are a number of parking places close to the cottage. Cottage users normally use one immediately outside the front door, with a concrete path running alongside the car up a slight slope to the door, with no steps. Once over the low weather seal at the door, there are 2 x 6” steps up to the main floor level. A removable ramp is available, but there is not space to allow this to be left in place whilst the door is being opened or closed. The steps are edged with 2” wide white strips, which contrast with the carpet. The rear exit is over a 6” threshold, stepping up and then down to a paved area (dustbin etc are situated here). There is a further 6” step up and then a short grassy slope to the lawned garden. Emergency egress is possible – from the lawned garden, through a gate into the adjacent field. The kitchen has extensive worktops and a low level oven. The TV and other entertainment equipment have remote controls. There is ample natural and artificial light in all rooms. The external light to the front of the building is activated automatically by a PIR movement/heat sensor. The doors have not been widened, and moving around has to be done with care. The owners can re-arrange furniture to allow for more space – especially in the bedroom if required. Guide dogs are welcome. Public transport (local buses) runs from the village. The hourly service to Haverfordwest has a stop at the end of the lane (approx ½ mile) while the other services are ¼ to ½ mile further away. None of the stops have shelters.
