The views are stunning and you are aside to Dinas Mountain. Within the grounds there is a circluar walk for a wonderful stroll, the dog friendly cove of Pwllgwaelod is only 1/2 mile away and you can enjoy the stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coastal patharound Dinas Head and onto Cwm yr Eglwys. There is so much dog friendly delights to discover here and enjoy the North Pembrokeshire coastline. |

Pen y Mynydd is a wonderful detached, stone cottage, sympathetically renovated and extended to a high standard.Tucked up a narrow lane, it is set within 10 acres, in the most stunning location on the side of Dinas Mountain with sweeping views over Dinas and out to sea, the coastline is mapped out below you and on a clear day you can see Strumble Head and even the peak of St Davids.
Comfortably furnished, the mix of contemporary and antique pieces complement each other with slate and wooden floors, as well as beams throughout, giving rustic charm with modern conveniences. The fitted farmhouse style kitchen has 2 steps down to the dining area with French doors opening down to a raised patio where one can enjoy an alfresco meal overlooking the fields and out to sea. Stairs lead to a galleried lounge with 2 large corner units to relax and make the most of the amazing sea views. A second sitting room with large inglenook and wood burning stove has a more cosy, traditional feel with easy seating and original settles, a door opens to a large sloping lawn to the side. Stairs lead to the quaint, cosy first floor bedrooms, nestling in the eaves. Older children as well as adults will love exploring the extensive grounds with a bubbling brook, woodland and fields to wander, there is even a circular walk to enjoy, admire the sunsets over the sea they are particularly vivid here.
A 15 minute downhill walk will take you to the shop and pub in Dinas, though the return trip will take longer as it is steep. The popular cove of Pwllgwaelod with its beachside restaurant lies just half a mile from Dinas, join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and enjoy the circular walk from here round Dinas Head and on to Cwm yr Eglwys. Newport with its bustling shops, pubs, restaurants and galleries, as well as the beautiful beach at Newport Sands is nearby.
